(1) FALL REGISTRATION - Is now underway for the Christian Early Learning Program (ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age) at the Intergenerational Center and the Student Enrichment Program (before and after school), ages 5 to 12 years old in Brandywine.  Union Bethel F.O.C.U.S. is reconsidering bringing a before and after school  program back to Temple Hills if there is enough interest.  Expressions of Interest will be recorded through August 15, 2008 and a decision made shortly thereafter. For the Temple Hills location call Steve Morris or  Oveta H.  (2)  EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:  Substitute Teachers/Aides (urgent-both locations).  Also recruiting for: Group Leader, Assist.  (3 )  F.O.C.U.S. FUNDRAISER:  Macy's "Shop for a Cause."   Macy's set aside a day to help non-profit organizations like Union Bethel F.O.C.U.S. to raise money for its operations.  This year the date is September 20, 2008.  The concept is:  Macy's gives the non-profit passes for the day to sell at $5.00 each.  The proceeds come directly to the non-profit (none goes to Macy's).  By selling the passes, the non-profit opens the door to purchasers bargains and discounts offered by  Macy's, that day only, and eligibility to participate in a special drawing for a  Macy's $500 gift card.  All Macy's stores are
participating.  In addition, Union Bethel will have two drawings with participation as follows:  $100 for folks who purchase at least 2 passes and $150 for folks purchasing/selling 5 or more passes.  The F.O.C.U.S. drawings will now be held on September 19, 2008.  Passes must be purchased in order to enter the prize drawings.   Special mailings have been sent out to individuals in the church and community.  Please respond favorably!!!! Your support of this

purchased upon request to the point of contact.  Although, the deadline for purchase of passes is September19, 2008, status reports of  sales must be made every Wednesday .  So don't wait until the last minute, purchase a pass today.
